OUTDOOR
Outdoor advertising, as a category, includes pretty much any advertising
that is seen, well, outside. Billboards (obviously) would be the most
common example. In real estate, it would also include the signing
on the outside of your building, For Sale signs, even bus benches
and waiting areas.
Outdoor advertising is the trickiest to get right because you need
to communicate your entire marketing message in about 6 or 7 words.
A commonly accepted great billboard with advertising insiders is a
board that simply says, "EXIT NOW."
So doing your own billboard design, especially with the amazing visibility
many billboards can get these days, is not smart and an easy way to
lose a lot of money. Be careful.
